Jack McAlhaney

Mr. Jack Willard McAlhaney, 80, of 370 Rocking M Road, Varnville, entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 25, 2015 after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Phyllis May Warren McAlhaney, to whom he was married for 51 years.

Funeral services will be held 3 pm, Sunday, June 28, 2015 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel.  Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery, Smith Cemetery Road, Varnville.

Born July 29, 1934 at home in Varnville, he was the son of the late Robert and Margie McAlhaney.  He served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force.  He retired from United Telephone Company serving as the SE Central Office Supervisor.

Surviving are: his children, Joy R. McAlhaney, Jack W. McAlhaney and his wife Rhonda Wilson McAlhaney, and Henry Scott McAlhaney; sister, Myrtle McAlhaney Smith; brother, Marvin McAlhaney; grandchildren, William Daniel Bilton, III (Mandy), Andrew Jacob Bilton, Hannah McAlhaney Bullard (Russ), Elizabeth Warren McAlhaney, Jack W. McAlhaney, III, Courtney Amber Bishop, Chelsea Brianna Bishop, Sunny Brooke McAlhaney, Haley Summer McAlhaney, and Henry Scott McAlhaney, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jaiyden Elizabeth Bilton, Caleb Allen, Charles Grayson Bilton, Perry Greyson Bullard, and Adler Finley Bullard; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, William Daniel Bilton, Jr.; and siblings, Archie McAlhaney Thomas, Ella Jane Reed, Robert Lee McAlhaney, Jr., Sarah Louise McAlhaney, and Jimmie Lewis McAlhaney.
