My family and I would like to express our deepest sympathy over the loss of your dear husband, Douglas. May you find comfort in your loving memories and the warmth of family and friends. A scripture that has uplifted me during times such as this is found at Revelation 21:4. There it describes a time when death and pain will be gone forever after God restores his original purpose for the earth. We will even see our loved ones again who we have lost in death (John 5:28 & 29). It is our hope that these words bring you a measure of comfort during this difficult time as well. Once again, please accept our condolences as you deal with your loss.

As I spoke with many, once I heard the sad news. Doug, whenever I saw him had that pleasant smile on his face and never a negative word. He was a devoted worker at SRS and will be remembered by all of his friends and associates. A very special person, that all liked and loved. God Bless the family, our prayers are with you during these troubling times.

I will greatly miss Doug. He and I have worked closely together over the years that he has been on the Board of Driftwood. I always knew if I called and needed him with an HOA issue or a personal issue he would be there in a minute to help. He will be greatly missed.

Doug meant so much to our family. Over the years he got to know our parents and even played golf with my dad. Most of all our girls looked up to Doug and as they got older and started going to the beach on their own they felt safe knowing that Uncle Doug and Aunt Sheron were just a floor below. There's so many things we will miss about him... his smile, his bear hugs and his willingness to always help a friend. He undoubtedly left a mark on our hearts and we're so grateful to have known him. Somewhere in our sadness we will gain strength to support Sheron and her family and continue to celebrate his life in our hearts and memories. Love, Bill, Kim, Carson & Shealy

it was many years / miles ago we first met. it was a good friendship. he openly welcomed a "newbie" to the area and we all enjoyed his humor over the years together. so many years have passed, but with a face like that, you just gotta' love'em. rest in peace my friend.
