Joseph R. Welch Sr., 75, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at his home in the Low Country of South Carolina following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine G. (Macomber) Welch.
Born in Bellefonte, PA he was the son of the late Chester F. and Romaine I. (Bressler) Welch.
In addition to his loving wife Elaine, he is survived by three sons, Joseph R. Welch Jr. of Bluffton, SC., Richard T. Welch of Lititz, PA, and Todd M. Welch, husband of Kimberly of Mountville, PA. He was preceded in death in 2011 by his beloved son, Rory A. Welch.
He is also survived by two sisters, Linda Steigauf of Landisville, PA and Donna Wagner of Renovo, PA., and one brother Chester F. Welch Jr. of TN. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Brookens and Lois Casper, both of Renovo, PA.
His pride and joy were his grandsons, Justin Welch, Jonathan Welch, Sean Welch, Eric Welch and Liam Welch; and two precious granddaughters, Julie Welch and Jessica Welch, always on his mind and in his heart, but sadly, never in his arms.
Joe, who enjoyed gardening and golfing, was a member of the Yemassee congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He is now sleeping in death, awaiting his resurrection to the new paradise earth described at Revelation 21.
