So Sorry to only recently learn of my old friend Butch just a couple of weeks ago. We ran side by side for so many years working at the State park, working on shrimp boats, hunting, and just having a good time. I deeply regret that over the years after leaving Edisto, getting married, having kids and starting a new business, we somehow managed to lose touch with each other as the years grew further and further apart. I am deeply sorry to his family and friends that I was not there before his passing or the memorial service. I have thought about Butch every day since hearing of his passing and wishing I had made one last trip. I did find some old pictures that you may enjoy and have posted for you to see and remember the smile that I remember seeing so many times.

Hope the photos were able to bring a smile to some of Butch's friends and family as I keep them handy still remembering the good times we once had. Still thinking of you my friend.

We were all shocked and saddened by Butch's death. Our love and prayers are with all of the immediate family. As his cousin who lived next door for many years, he was a big part of my childhood. It is difficult to comprehend that he is gone. So many memories have surfaced in the past few days. Hugs to all of you.

Dale and Ms Bobbie I am so sorry to read of Butch's death. I have after all these years gotten into the habit of checking the obituaries everyday and trying to keep up with the news. the more I look the more people my age and younger are listed. It just breaks my heart that he died so young. Now that I'm that age, it's young. Just doesn't seem right. I'm sorry also about Mr Hatfields death. I did not know that he had passed away until now. I remember all the good times we had at church when we were growing up and you Ms Bobbie and Ms Shook being our Brownie and Girl Scout leaders. Y'all were the best and when I grew up and was finally an adult I did realize how much time that took from your lives and your families and I appreciate that more than you know. Dale I'm gonna try to get to the wake tonight. You know I have problems and I'm having surgery Nov 8th so hopefully that problem will be fixed once and for all. Then I'm hoping I can drive distances again and maybe I can visit you one day as I'm passing through Brevard going in the mountains. That's a beautiful area that you live in. I guess that's all I have to say for now except for giving my condolences to the rest of the family that I don't know but wish I did. God brought you to it so he will get you through it. RIP Butch
