Mrs. Barbara Taylor Singletary, 82, of Cottageville, entered into rest Saturday morning, July 15, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. She was the loving wife of the late Mr. Archie N. Singletary.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, July 18, 2017, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend David Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Rudd Branch Cemetery on Highway 47, in the Lebanon Community.
Born April 27, 1935, in Jefferson, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Lee Roy Taylor and the late VellaMae Smallwood Taylor. She retired after eighteen years of service as a school bus driver with the Colleton County School District. She loved children, and because of that love volunteered for many years at the Bethel United Methodist Church Preschool and most recently at Colleton Prepatory Academy. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Walterboro and will always be remembered as a great southern cook. She always centered her life around her loving family and was always devoted to the needs of others.
Surviving are: four children, Belinda “Bee” Scott (Michael) of Summerville, Archie L. “Bubba” Singletary (Missy) of Cottageville, Kathy “Haggie” Minnick (Sam) of Walterboro, and Teresa S. Craven (Wayne) of Ridgeville; and a sister, Linda T. Sanders (Bennie) of Ridgeville. There are seven grandchildren, Tony Daniels (Nikki), Adam Daniels (Crystal), Barbara Brown (Matt), Bryon Singletary (Meaghan), Andrea Singletary, Allie Craven, and Nathaniel Craven as well as eight great grandchildren that also survive.
