Mrs. Voncil Winn Cooke, 80, of Varnville, entered into rest Thursday, May 27, 2021, at her daughter’s residence. She was the widow of the late Wyman Cooke.
Born November 26, 1940 in Hampton County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Winn and Eunice Ginn Winn. She retired from the dietary department at Hampton Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Grays Church of God of Prophecy. Mrs. Voncil was a wonderful, loving mother, who deeply cared for her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivng are: her chilren, Tammie Brunson of Varnville, James Wyman Cooke and his wife Kim of Ridgeland, Allen Cooke and his wife Kathy of Cummings, and Greg Cooke and his wife Marcie of Ridgeland; brother, Charlie E. “Shot” Winn of Hampton; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard Winn and Barney Henry Winn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ginn Cemetery Fund.
Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, May 30, 2021 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ginn Cemetery, Turner Expressway, Estill.
