Travis Steele Watkins Obituary

Travis Steele Watkins went to be with Jesus on April 21, 2021.  Born November 7, 1986, Travis was an incredible man who loved his family and friends.  He lived a life full of adventure, laughter and mischievous escapades.  His happy smile and strong, warm hugs will be remembered forever.  Travis loved the outdoors and will spend eternity walking in the woods among the animals, creeks and trees.  He’ll probably even hunt and fish a bit while he’s there.  Travis was a natural athlete who loved his friends and teammates.  He leaves behind a cadre of loyal “brothers” who laughed their way through years of adventures in football, soccer, hunting, fishing and so much more.

Travis loved his family including his wife Stephanie Stone Watkins and his two precious daughters Niah and Makenly Watkins all of Rock Hill.  His family in Walterboro will forever love and miss him:  His Mom, Sandy Steele, his father Ty Watkins (deceased), his sister Chancey Watkins Padgett, her husband Shaun Padgett, who he loved like a brother, and their girls Madisyn and Payton.  Travis loved his two older brothers, Chris Watkins of Orangeburg and Marty Watkins of Cope.  His Uncle Buddy Hill was more like his Dad, and he adored his Aunt Becky Hill, along with his cousins, who he considered sisters, Cassy Hardy and Whitlee Fisk, all of Walterboro.  Travis especially loved his Granddaddy George Steele, and they are now happily together in heaven.  Travis spent the past Sunday with his Grana, Betty Steele of Sumter whom he loved with all his heart.

Instead of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Travis’ honor to The Hebron Colony, a residential, Jesus centered rehabilitation center for men in Boone, NC, which also offers a women’s rehabilitation center in Santee, SC.  The Hebron Colony is free to any anyone and focuses on rebuilding your life through Jesus’ unwavering love and healing.  www.hebroncolony.org
