Thomas "Roy" Dennis
Obituary
Mr. Thomas LeRoy Dennis, 78, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
October 3, 1943 in Clarendon County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Whaley Dennis and the late Pearsney Tucker Dennis. He served in the South Carolina National Guard and was employed with General Telephone Electrics which is known today as Frontier. He in earlier years, enjoyed baseball and softball as well as hunting.
Surviving are: three children, Renee Dennis Stanley (Al) of Walterboro, Lance Dennis (Melinda) of Walterboro, and Kevin Dennis (Sammie) of West Virginia; three brothers, Whaley Dennis, Esau Dennis, and Joe Dennis; three sisters, Loraine Mears, Ellen Ruppert, and Cathy Moody; six grandchildren, Caitlin Stanley, McCayla Stanley, Lindsey Stanley, Lauren Rawlings (Corey), Wesley Dennis, and Hunter Dennis; and two great grandchildren, Luke Rawlings and Emma Rawlings; as well as the mother of his children, Wilbur Mills Dennis. He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Dennis and Melvin Dennis; and two sisters, Sara Ann Rawls and Elizabeth Dennis.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to: Dixie Youth Softball and Baseball, care of Colleton County Recreation Department, 208 Recreation Lane, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
A private family service will be held at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.
