Mr. Roy Henry Cook, 76, of Dorchester, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, February 6, 2020, after a long and valiant struggle with cancer.
Born July 5, 1943, in Hampton, South Carolina he was a son of the late Walter Cook and the late Desie Sullivan Cook. He retired from Publix Supermarkets as a meat cutter, but his love of farming was his passion. He supplied his family and friends with the overflow of his well-tended garden each year and was one of Summerville Farmers Market’s oldest farmers, meeting many wonderful friends and customers during the past twenty years. He was also a farmer at the Walterboro market for many years.
Surviving are: his wife and partner of almost forty years, Mrs. Sandra J. Jones; four children, Roy M Cook of Orangeburg, Reginia Bailey (Kevin) of Walterboro, Patty Sanders (Sigo) of Newton Falls, Ohio, and Randy Cook (Kathrine) of Asheville, North Carolina; a brother, Ray Cook of Moselle; two sisters, Urel Stone of Islandton and Fay Bouknight (Jimmy) of Irmo; eleven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Cook; and three sisters, Trudy Dopson, Nell Gaits, and Daisy Mae Cook.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, February 11, 2020, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
