Robert Pessolano Filos

Mr. Robert Pessolano Filos, 58, of Round O, husband, father of nine children and grandfather of two, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 4, 2022, at Colleton Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.

Robert was born on October 20, 1963 in Bronx, NY to Claude P. and Kathleen P. Filos. As a child, Rob was full of life and endlessly curious. He was also smart and athletic. 

As an adult he was a versatile craftsman who worked in numerous fields. He began his professional life working in the family printshop with his father and uncle in Manhattan. He later became a talented carpenter, and used those skills in boat building and home building. A home he worked on was once selected as Home of the Year by a popular magazine. Robert was a creative man who loved expressing himself through poetry, painting, and working with his hands. He was passionate about the causes he believed in. He enjoyed fishing and the peace of the ocean. His friends and family found his smile infectious and his sense of humor brilliant. He could tell a story like nobody else. 

Robert is survived by his wife Naomi, their nine children, their two grandchildren, his three sisters and a son-in-law.

A graveside service was held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Fox Cemetery on Wesley Grove Road in Cottageville, SC, where he is interred. Donations may be made in his memory to Bethlehem Baptist Church in Round O.
