Randy Alan Moore, 65, of Smoaks, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 3, 2020, after a extensive illness at Roper Hospital. He was born March 31, 1955 in Decatur, Illinois. Mr. Moore was a son to the late Mr. Bob Robert Moore and the late Mrs. Betty Joann Williams.
Randy faithfully served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for many years as a train engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad and as a logger till his health prohibited him. Randy was a hard worker and had an unbelievable amount of strength, desire and will to live during his lengthy illness. He possessed a unconditional love for his wife, children and family, which was what kept him striving to overcome his illness over the many years. A family man he was known as but he also shared a great love for animals as well.
In addition to his wife of fourteen years, Sandra Dee Murphy Moore, he is also survived by: sons Jason Moore (Kari) or Summerville, SC, Dylan Murphy (Briana) of St. Matthews, Logan Rice of Smoaks and Jeffery Register (Joanna) of Bamberg; a daughter, Trisha Thomas of Illinois; grandchildren, Kaylen McReynolds, J.T Moore, Peyton Moore, Kayden Murphy and Alivia Murphy; brothers Mark Moore (Mickey) of Florida and Gary Moore of Illinois; sisters, Kathy Jett (Harry) of Florida and Nancy Hart of Illinois.
The family will be having a celebration of Mr. Moore’s life Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Little Swamp United Methodist Church, 17465 Hunters Chapel Road, Smoaks, SC 29481.
