Mrs. Mary Anne Myrick Smith, 78, of Grays, entered into rest Thursday morning, May 27, 2021, at Bloome at Belfair in Bluffton.
Born February 1, 1943 in Allendale, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late J.P. Myrick and the late Essie Lou Davis Myrick. She worked many years at Palmetto State Bank in Hampton from which she retired. She was a member of Varnville First Baptist Church where she was a member and secretary of many years for the Sunshine Class. She loved flowering arranging and drawing. She loved her family and friends very much. She also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting.
Surviving are: her husband, Mr. Ray Douglas Smith; two daughters, Rolynn (Marvin) Stanley of Varnville, South Carolina and Lori (Todd) Litchfield of Walterboro; a step-daughter, Leslie (Allen) Withycombe of Lexington, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Jordyn Litchfield, Jacob Stanley, Justin Litchfield, Owen Withycombe, Kayla Stanley, and Dalton Litchfield; a sister, Melda Purewal of Allendale, South Carolina; and a brother, Bobby Myrick of Allendale, South Carolina. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Myrick Baker of Allendale.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, May 29, 2021, from Varnville First Baptist Church, 165 East Palmetto Avenue, Varnville. The Reverend Dr. Thomas Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Grimes Cemetery near Grays. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 2 o’clock in the church sanctuary.
The family has requested that members of the Sunshine Class at Varnville First Baptist Church serve as Honorary Escorts and their presence is requested in the Narthex of the church at 3:30pm that afternoon.
