Mrs. Malda Jones Taylor, 71, of Walterboro, entered into rest Sunday afternoon, April 17, 2022, at her residence while under the care of Amedysis Hospice.
Born March 29, 1951, in Walterboro, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Sigsbee and Alma Lee Hiers Jones. She worked most of her life in office management. She was a devoted member of Sandy Dam United Methodist Church in Walterboro where she was active in the church’s greeting card ministry. She enjoyed most doing for others and loved gospel music.
Surviving are: her husband of thirty years, Mr. Daniel Henry Taylor; five children, Greg Garris, Shelly Nicole Taylor, Annamarie Wetsel, Jessice Lauren Marcus, and Sean Kelly Taylor; a brother, Webb Jones; a sister, Jean Hodges; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Lee Merck, Judy Jones, Barbara Steedley, and Carolyn Berry.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, April 21, 2022, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Doug Marchant officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Dam United Methodist Churchyard, 3422 Charleston Highway, Walterboro.
