Lt. Colonel Gene Boyer Fee, Sr., United States Army (Ret.), age 85, of Ehrhardt, South Carolina entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, January 12, 2022, at the Medical University Of South Carolina in Columbia.
Born March 8, 1936 in Olney, Illinois, he was the eldest son of the late Ola Eugene Fee and the late Beatrice Wright Fee. Lt. Colonel Fee served in the United States Army having seen action during the Vietnam Era and was also a retiree of the Unites States Army Corps of Engineers. Boyer wrote in his biography, "I spent my first 20 years growing up in the Midwest, New England, and the South. My second 20 years were in the Army. My third 20 years I spent enjoying the farm, hunting, and doing photography. My current 20 years are being spent trying to keep from boring everyone by retelling all that."
Surviving are: his wife, Phebe Carey Fee; two sons, Gene Fee, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Augusta, Georgia,and Tom Fee and his wife Liz of Smyrna, Georgia; and a daughter, Georgia Farris and her husband David of Espanola, New Mexico. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Whitney Whitlock and her husband Michael of Charleston, South Carolina; Kyle Fee and his wife Kayla of Alpharetta, Georgia; Annie Fee of Toronto Canada; Katie Fee and her husband Daniel Lloyd-Miller of Alfred, New York; and Tisha Farris of Bend, Oregon; as well as one great grandchild, Greyson Whitlock.
