Mrs. Lizzie Johnson Austin, 67, entered into rest surrounded by her loving family Saturday evening, March 16, 2019, at her home in Walterboro under hospice care. She was the loving wife of forty-eight years to the late Mr. John David Austin who passed February 8, 2019.
Born October 22, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Berry Johnson and the late Helen Frye Johnson. She along with her late husband owned and operated Family Connections in Walterboro. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Walterboro. She will always be remembered for the unconditional love she possessed for her family as well as for her warm and gentle smile. She always enjoyed going fishing with her husband.
Surviving are: two daughters, Karen Denise Austin and Krystal Austin Logan (Jaquis) both of Walterboro; twelve siblings, Bonnie Hussey, Norman Johnson, Lou Glover, Cheryl Jefferson, Wayne Johnson, Tricia Miranda, Frank Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Alice Robinson, Doris Manigo, and George Johnson; a brother-in-law, Riley Austin; two sisters-in-law, Ann Iriel, and Cindy George (Ray). There are six grandchildren, Stephanie, Paris, Darrell, Caine, Lexi, and Kash; and two great grandchildren, Kareyah and Zoey. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Annette Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2019, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Tommy Garrick officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
