Mrs. Linda Stokes Cook, 74, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday morning, January 6, 2021, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was the wife of the late Mr. Leroy Cook, Sr.
Born November 15, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Harriett Stokes. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church. Linda was a loving and kind-spirited person who had a strong faith and centered her life around her family, and was always full of laughter.
Surviving are: her son Leroy Cook, Jr. (Tuesday) of Houston, Texas; daughters, Lynette Grider (Lee) of Guyton, Georgia and Leslie Barwick (Joe Joe) of Walterboro; 7 grandchildren, Leroy Cook, Ryan Cook, Jessica King, Katelyn Barwick, Gabriel Buckner, Adreanna Zachary, Khalysta Cook; and 2 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Stephens and Thomas Stephens. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Stokes; and a sister, Terri Pruitt.
Due to the extenuating circumstances with the Coronavirus pandemic and availability at the cemetery, the graveside funeral service will not be held until Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 1 o’clock in the M. J. Dolly Cooper Veteran’s Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson.
