Linda Reeves Skinner Obituary

Mrs. Linda Reeves Skinner, 58, of Cope, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 2021, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Columbia after suffering a severe stroke.

Born April 6, 1963 in Orangeburg, South Caronia, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Murray Reeves and the late Dorothy Ann Harriott Reeves.  She was a tremendous source of light, strength, determination, and wisdom to her family and friends. Her absence in our lives leaves a tremendous void but we take comfort in knowing her faith has made her whole in the presence of her Lord in heaven.  She enjoyed spending her time with her devoted husband of twenty-one years, Randy Skinner, and her family in the outdoors, fishing and enjoying God’s creation. Much of her time fishing on the Edisto where she was raised and on the Santee River, launching often from Wilson’s Landing. She trekked into the woods on the golf cart with her grandchildren often and enjoyed scenic drives in the Blue Ridge to see waterfalls and other beautiful natural sites each fall.

She was in every sense an animal enthusiast and kept her home and yard full of various animals including peacocks, quail and chickens, several dogs including Moose, Bear, Boomer and Cue. Her personal menagerie was not complete without her prickle of hedgehogs. Her greatest treasure, however, are her thirteen grandchildren: Lawrence, Clifton, Makenzie, Camden, Noah, Bentley, Emily, Tucker, Madalynn, Judy, Savannah, Willa, and Nora, and great nephews Jacob and Brody. She loved and cared about each one fiercely.

She will forever be remembered for her larger-than-life personality.  She was truly a force to be reckoned with and her presence was always known.  She possessed a heart of gold that was constantly caring and doing for others.   She will also be remembered as a great southern cook.  She was an avid reader, always prolific in reading and expanding her world through a good book.

Linda is survived by her husband Randall “Randy” R. Skinner of Cope, her three sons: Christopher (Erin) Zeigler of Orangeburg, Heyward “Bubba” (Kayla) Zeigler of Reevesville, and William (Lauren) Zeigler of Cope, her brother Nelson “Shorty” Reeves of Reevesville and niece Heather Reeves (Shay) and nephew Brandon “Bud” Reeves.

Private family memorial services will be held in Reevesville, South Carolina.
