Linda Faye Barsha Albury, 70, of Walterboro, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, September 2, 2021, at her residence.
Born July 23, 1951, in Summerville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Charles Woodrow Barsha, Sr. and the late Mazie Frances Rourk Barsha. She retired from the Colleton County School District having served in the cafeterias at Colleton Middle School and Hendersonville Elementary.
Surviving are: her children, Frances Elizabeth Wilson (Tim) of Dorchester, Laura Faye Drawdy (Alvin) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Edward Eugene Reed (Maria) of Walterboro; a brother, Charles Woodrow Barsha, Jr. (Lois) of Saint George; and grandchildren, Gabby (Jose), Larry (Chelsey), Reba (Cody), Brad (Amanda), Linda, and Alvin, Jr. (Estelle) Brittany Chanco (Michael), Bryanna Stikes (Darren); and eight great grandchildren, Andrea, Aaron, Ava, Oliva, Kinley, Caysen, Conner, and Malachi. She is survived by one she called her adopted son, Curtis Peeples; lifetime friend, Carolyn DeWitt. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Mr. C. R. “Buddy” Broach; and a sister, Mildred J. Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, September 5, 2021, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend David Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
