Mrs. Mary Julia Ritter Crosby, 95, a longtime resident of Walterboro, entered into rest Thursday morning, January 27, 2022, at the Calhoun Convalescent Center in Saint Matthews. She was the wife of the late Mr. James Monroe Crosby.
Born June 3, 1926, in Ritter, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Moody Ritter, Sr. and the late Ada Crosby Ritter. She was a retired seamstress from Smoaks Manufacturing and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
The family is grateful to the staff of the Calhoun Convalescent Center for the care they provided to Julia, especially to Mrs. Rose Glover who orchestrated the many Bingo games that Julia so dearly loved.
Surviving are: a host of nieces and nephews to included, Herbert O. Crosby, Jr. (Cathy), Kenneth Crosby (Roxane), Gwendolyn Gower (Art), Libby Brissie (Jim), Celeste Crosby, Hilton Ritter and Ernest Cummins; as well as a special cousin, Norma Snipes.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Ebeneezer United Methodist Church, care of Johnny Ritter, 208 Holly Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, February 5, 2022 from the graveside at Ebenezer United Methodist Churchyard, 1150 Possum Corner Road, Walterboro.
