Mrs. Judy Rogers Ramsey, 72, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday morning, May 24, 2021, at her residence while under the care of Amedisys Hospice.
Born August 16, 1948, in Chatham County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Barney Lawton Rogers and the late Myrtice Pauline Turner Rogers. She retired in 2008 as the office manager from Cummings Oil and previously she has worked as an agent with Grey Hound Bus and had also worked in the family’s country store in Lodge. She was raised to know Christ as her Savior at Carter’s Ford Baptist Church in Lodge. Judy was a talented pianist who loved music. She possessed a gift for crocheting and sewing and was a great southern cook. Most of all, she loved her family and always centered her life around them.
Surviving are: her husband of fifty-five years, Mr. Bissell Marvin “Pete” Ramsey; three daughters, Ren‘a Ramsey Craven and her husband Silas “Bubba” Craven, Jr., Angie Ramsey Roerig and her husband William “Bill” Roerig, and Patricia Ramsey Gahagan and her husband James B. Gahagan, IV all of Walterboro; three grandchildren, Alexander Dru Craven, Victoria Sydney Craven, and Isabella Ramsey Roerig; and three nephews, Neal Burnsed, Noel Burnsed, and Nelson Burnsed; as well as a host of cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Turner Burnsed.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, May 28, 2021, from the graveside in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. The Reverend Barry Moorehead officiating. The family will greet friends following the committal ceremony at the cemetery.
