Mr. John Patrick Nugent, Sr., 81, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Born November 26, 1939, in Manhattan, New York, he was a son of the late Fred Nugent and the late Bertha Blanc Nugent. HE attended Fordham University and was a retired mail handler from the United States Postal Service having worked in the New York City office. He made Walterboro his home in 1997 to be closer to the family he loved and enjoyed spending time with. He was a member of Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Walterboro. He was also a fan of sports always enjoying watching the Yankees play.
Surviving are: two sons, John Patrick Nugent, Jr. and his wife Carmen of Spartanburg and Frederick Joseph Nugent of Atlanta; three brothers, Joe Nugent, George Nugent, and Daniel Nugent; three sisters, Christian N. Leary, Annette Pulis, and Louise Johnson; six grandchildren, Patrick (Maria), Cameron, Ashten, Rukia, Jade, Bryson; and one great grandchildren, Annalee; as well as a beloved host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Nugent Murray and her husband Scooter.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Friday morning, July 2, 2021, from the graveside at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. The Reverend David Jackson officiating.
