John "J.P." Connelly

Mr. John "J.P." Connelly, of Edisto Island, husband of Phyllis Smith Connelly, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his residence after battling kidney cancer.

Graveside services will be held at 11 o’clock, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 am until the hour of service in the Bedon Life Center at 2410 Cottageville Hwy., Walterboro, SC.

J.P. was born March 11, 1945 in Walterboro to the late Riddick and Mary Connelly.  He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a Rigger/Diver General Foreman.

Surviving are: his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Smith Connelly; son, John P. Connelly, Jr. (Becky) of Pelion; grandchildren, Patrick Brower of Summerville and Rachel Connelly, Elizabeth Daniels (Tony), Henry Garrett and one great grandchild all of Pelion; sister, Jackie Craven (Wallace) of Canadys; brother, Buddy Connelly (Judy) of Walterboro; and several nieces.  He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Givens.
