Joe Carroll

Mr. Joe Willie Carroll, affectionately known as “Super Fan”, 83, of Smoaks, went to be with his Savior on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his residence.

Born November 11, 1936 in Smoaks, he was a son of the late Jim Keever Carroll and Muta Rena Kinsey Carroll.  Joe was a lifelong member of Smoaks Baptist Church where he served his Savior faithfully.  At his beloved church, he was active in the men’s Sunday School as well as several committees.  He liked the outdoors and spent most of his life farming and gardening.  He enjoyed ministering to his neighbors and supporting the Colleton Prep athletic teams.  He lived a full life loving his family, his church, and friends, but most of all his Savior.

Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Edna Bell Carroll of Smoaks; daughters, Tammy Hall and her husband Jimmy of Smoaks and Debbie Dickerson and her husband Steve of Franklin, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Trey Hall (Becky) of Summerville, Garrett Hall (Caroline) of Aiken, Landon Dickerson (Alyssa) of Spartanburg, and Kaden Dickerson of Franklin, Tennessee; and one great grandson, Kevin Hall of Summerville.  He was preceded in death by an uncle, Horace Kinsey.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for the care and support they have given to Mr. Joe.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Tuesday morning, June 16, 2020 at Smoaks Baptist Church, 443 Lodge Highway, Smoaks.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  In compliance with CDC requirements and social distancing guidelines, limited seating will be available in the church.
