Mr. James Barry Sutton, Sr., affectionately known to everyone as “Mr. Jimmy”, 71, of Bamberg, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland.
Born December 24, 1949 in Greenville, he was a son of the late Clarence George Sutton and Mildred Sue Grubbs Sutton. He was a retired car salesman. He enjoyed fishing and going to yard sales, and especially loved his animals.
Surviving are: his sons, Jimmy Sutton and his wife Angie of Smoaks and Joey Sutton of Bamberg; step-children, Harold Hill and his wife Betsy of Eastover and Jennifer Hill Glover of Elgin; brother, Bobby Putman and his wife Jan of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Lindsay Sutton Templeton and her husband Fred, Dalton Barrett Sutton, Mari Annalyn Sutton, Grace Elizabeth Sutton, Andrew Trotman Sutton, Kinsley Hill, and Sara Hill; great granddaughter, Ellis Grace Templeton; his caregiver, Mae Parker; and a special friend, Wayne Biggers. He was preceded in death by a son, Chad Randall Sutton; grandson, James B. “Trace” Sutton, III; and a brother, Jack Grubbs.
The family would like to thank his caregiver, Mae Parker, for all the love and dedication she has shown to Mr. Jimmy and the family.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, April 10, 2021 at South End Cemetery in Bamberg. The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.
