Jeremy Owen Blewer, 19, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 10, 2018 as a result of a tragic accident. He was born September 23, 1998 in Charleston, South Carolina and was raised on Big Survey Plantation in Yemassee, South Carolina. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending his time in the fields, woods, or water. His love of life, family, and friends was evident in everything he did and was known to everyone whose life he touched.
Jeremy graduated from Colleton County High School in 2017 where he was a member of the inaugural class of Cougar New Tech at Colleton County High School. He served as both a Student Ambassador and as a member of the Director’s Advisory Council. He was a member of the inaugural Youth in Government Chapter at Colleton County High School. He was an Architectural Design and Building Construction Double Completer at Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center. He loved architectural design and enjoyed the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. Jeremy was also an active member of the AWANA program at Black Creek Baptist Church. After graduating, Jeremy was employed by Alvin Garnsey Construction.
Jeremy is survived by his parents Mia and Jerry Blewer of Yemassee and his brother Jared. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Harriett and Larry Dangerfield of Summerville and Gary Sallee of Bluffton; his paternal grandmother Carole Blewer of Eutawville, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Jerry R. Blewer.
The family would like to thank Pastor Scott Hanna of Black Creek Baptist Church, Wendy McNeil, Tania McCleery, Dr. Melissa Crosby, Colleton County First Responders, and the Medical University of South Carolina.
A memorial service and celebration of Jeremy’s life will be held at the home of Jerry and Mia Blewer on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:00 P.M.
