Mr. James Rudolph Cumbee, age 80, of the Bonnie Doone Community of Colleton County, entered into rest Saturday morning, February 13, 2021, at his residence.
Born February 9, 1941, in Charleston, South Carolina he was a son of the late Joseph Benjamin Cumbee and the late Julia Ernestine “Tina” White Cumbee. Jimmy was raised in McClellanville, South Carolina, having worked alongside his daddy, Captain Joe, where he developed a great love of the water and family. He worked his entire life on the water. He was Merchant Marine Captain and worked for C&P Towing then Dann Marine Towing. He was a man of deep Christian faith and was a member of Sandy Dam United Methodist Church in Walterboro.
Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Terry Bishop Cumbee; six children, Mickey Cumbee, Sheri Holt, Melissa Shabin, Tracy Howell, Dawn Taylor, and Eva Marie, two step-children, Sheila Ward and Travis Merriman; and two sisters, Carolina Harvey and Teencie Rhea as well as numerous grand, great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Cumbee; and brothers and sisters, Edward Cumbee, Don Cumbee, Sara Rogers, Tricia Gard, Mary-Jo Alcantara,
