Mr. James Dwayne Lovett, Jr., known by all as “Jay”, age 27, of Saint George, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 6, 2020, in Berkeley County, South Carolina.
Born November 9, 1992, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of Janet Wise Combahee and James Dwayne Lovett, Sr. Jay was raised to know Christ at the family church, Calvary Baptist Church in Pregnall. Jay was truly one-of-a-kind. He was a fun filled guy, who possessed a very humorous side that could light up any room. One of his great achievements that brought him the greatest amount of pride was being a dad.
Surviving are: his mother, Janet Wise Combahee and her husband Tom of Saint George; his father, James Dwayne Lovett, Sr. and his wife Shirley of Columbia, Tennessee; his three month old son, Braylan Wesley Lovett; a brother, Dakota Hunter Combahee (Abbi Grooms); and a sister, Jennifer Renay Lovett (Wesley Gay) and her children, Trenton, Cheyanne, Bryer, Charlotte as well as one on the way. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Haleigh Just; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Willette Wilds; and his paternal grandparents, William and Faye Lovett.
Funeral services will be conducted 6 o’clock Friday evening, March 20, 2020, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony until 8 o’clock that evening at the mortuary.
