Mrs. Helen Smoak Roberts of Walterboro, SC, formerly of Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born August 28, 1945 in Columbia, SC and was the daughter of the late Eugene Ray and Lillian Steedley Smoak. Helen was a loving and compassionate person who loved her family and friends dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Henry Roberts, Jr.; and her sister, Louise (Lucy) Pennell Erb.
She is survived by her brother, Eugene Ray Smoak, Jr. (Susan) of Hubert, NC; her niece, Rachel Smoak Adams (Darryl) of Pelham, NY; nephew, David Eugene Smoak of Hubert, NC; nephew, George Douglas Pennell of California; great nephew, Andrew Adams; and great nieces, Lela Rose and Clara Jean Adams, all of Pelham,
NY.
She is also survived by her “loved and beautiful” son, Scott C. Morrison (Tonya) of North Carolina.
Graveside services will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina.
