Helen Frazier Jennings, 84, of 996 Bachelor Hill Road, Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Jennings was born March 5, 1938, a native and lifelong resident of Colleton County and was the daughter of the late Ashley and Lorine Bazzle Frasier. She was a member of Bedon Baptist Church.
Affectionately known as “Nanny” or “Nanny Goat” to the boys. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was an amazing southern cook and loved spending time with her family. She looked forward to visits from her grands and great-grands. She loved traveling and taking trips to the mountains with her family and friends. You could always find her at a casino. She loved to drive the interstate to visit with her sister Sue. She loved her country music: Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson and Elvis. She loved to dance and cut-up. She loved her flowers. She always kept up with all the family through the visits and phone calls.
Surviving are: her daughters, Reba Strickland (Willie) of Walterboro, and Rita Strickland (David) of Ruffin; grandchildren, Natasha Wilson (Brian), Justin Thomas (Hilary), Kyle Thomas (Lindsay), Dusty Strickland (Karen); great-grandchildren, Brooke Harmon (Robert), Mariah Aguilera, David Aguilera, Tanner DeWitt (Hannah), Tatum DeWitt, Mason Thomas; great-great grandchildren, Jaydon, Ava, Lucas, Travis and Layla; three sisters, Sue Lyon, Lucille James and Diane Jones (Wayne); special sister-in-law, Letha Ramsey and Diane Melander, whom she loved as a daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Reginald Jennings; and her siblings, Mary Jennings, Lorraine Keegan, Gloria Fletcher and Ashley Fraser, Jr.
The family would like to thank her Chaplin, doctors, nurses and staff at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, and a special thanks to Jeremy Todd with Hospice and Hilary Thomas for their care and support.
A graveside service will be held 2 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2022, at Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro. Visit the guestbook online at: www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com.
