Mrs. Hazel Benton Robertson, 89, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, October 4, 2020 at her residence. She was first married to the late Harvey Prescott and secondly to the late Harman Robertson.
Born April 7, 1931 in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Kirk Benton and Merivan Kinard Benton. She had worked for the SC Highway Department and was a homemaker. She was a member of Walterboro Church of God and loved music, especially old hymns. Mrs. Hazel loved to crochet and making blankets for everyone. She also loved animals and always made sure any strays were fed.
Surviving are: her children, Tarris Prescott of Walterboro, Sharon Hiers and her husband Herbert of Walterboro, Pamela Prescott of Walterboro, Harvey Prescott of Walterboro, Nancy Hunnewell of Columbia, Rebecca Prescott of Walterboro and Mildred Robertson of Walterboro; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brothers, Rudolph Benton of Tennessee and Skeeter Benton of Walterboro; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Vaughan; brothers, Adolph Benton, Lee Benton and Randy Benton; and sisters, Mae Smoak and Virginia Benton.
Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, October 7, 2020 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
