Gilbert Turner

Mr. Gilbert Eugene Turner, Jr., 74, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday afternoon, August 20, 2023, at Roper Hospital in Charleston.

Born February 22, 1949, in Gainesville, Florida, he was the son of the late Gilbert Eugene Turner, Sr. and Eugenia Carter Turner.  He was a retired commercial contractor.  He enjoyed fishing, wood crafting, landscaping, and spending time with those he loved.

Surviving are: his wife of 38 years, Catherine McDonald Turner of Walterboro; children, Amanda Brooks DuBose and her husband Dale of Florence and Paul McArthur Brooks and his wife Elysia of Greenville; grandchildren, Reagan DuBose, Jack DuBose, Nathan Brooks, Anna Brooks, and Della Brooks; and his sister, Gilda Turner Barnwell.

A memorial service will be held at 3 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, August 27, 2023, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 pm.
