Frieda Hiers

Mrs. Frieda S. Hiers, 66, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Colleton Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, April 13, 2018 at Grace Advent Christian Church, 398 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 o’clock Friday morning until the hour of service at the church.

Born May 25, 1951 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Smith, Jr. and Mary Virginia Herndon Smith.  She was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church.  She worked for many years at First Federal of Walterboro and Clearvision.  She was the secretary for the South Carolina Taxidermist Association for many years.  She loved traveling and especially camping by the streams in the mountains; and also loved to read.  Most of all, she cherished her family and her friends.

Surviving are: her husband, Harry Alvin Hiers of Walterboro; children, Donna Ann Stringfield of Walterboro, Donald Lee Stringfield of Kodak, Tennessee, and Matthew Hiers and his wife Ashley of Rock Hill; brother, Jack E. Smith and his wife Carla of Byron, Georgia; granddaughters, Makayla Brooke Robertson, Zoey McKinsey Robertson, India Anne Robertson, and Madison Bolin; several nieces and nephews; and a host of dear and beloved friends.
