Elizabeth Ann Friend

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Friend, 56, of Walterboro, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020, at the Medical University of South Carolina.  Mrs. Friend was born April 24, 1963, in Charleston and was the daughter to William Kenneth Wilson and Betty Sue Wilson.  

Elizabeth was born and raised in Colleton County. Beth also lived briefly in Georgia where she developed a passion for agriculture at Abraham Baldwin Collage and Alaska where she married the late Loyd Devoe Friend who preceded her in death in Kodiak.

Looking back, cooking, camping, listening to crickets at night, darts, sporting events, Dairy Land and jokes were her enjoyable hobbies.

She loved geography books and country music; she was happiest with family and pets in the back yard.  Some of her best memories were when she was living in Walterboro in the 60’s and 70’s.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her family that bleeds Orange, her brother, Richard "Ricky" A. Wilson and his wife Connie, of Walterboro; and two nieces, Hannah and Emily Wilson. .

The family will be having a reception for friends at the house of Ricky and Connie Wilson on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from two o'clock until four o'clock, located at 70 Covey Lane, Walterboro, SC 29488.

In lieu of flowers, Beth would like donations sent to a camp called Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, based in Ashford, Connecticut. It is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, residential summer camp, and year-round center serving children and their families coping with cancer and other serious illnesses and conditions.
