Dorothy Fitch Shear

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Fitch Shear, 86, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday, January 24, 2022, at Pruitt Health Care in Walterboro.

Born March 31, 1935 in Cherry Creek, New York, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Irene Fitch.  Dorothy loved South Carolina as well as boating and fishing.  Spending time with her family was important to her.  She loved going places and playing boardgames.  She was talented with embroidery and will be especially remembered for her work on pillowcases.  Dorothy had many people that loved her deeply.  She was a bright spot in everyone’s life that loved her.  Those that loved her were blessed to have known her and to have been able to share food times with her.

Surviving are: two sons, Duane Fitch (Ana) of Brocton, New York and Harvey Shear of Walterboro; six grandchildren, Charles, Duane, Jr., Keighleigh, Dana, Hayden, and Heath; and a sister, Gladys of Cleveland, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Fitch; and two sisters, Harriett Pierce, and Violet Pierce.  She was also survived by her caretakers that she loved as her own and will remain forever in their hearts, Joe and Mary Ferneza; grandsons, Joey Ferneza, Ronnie Dandridge, Dakota Dandridge; and granddaughter, Tammy Polk
