Mrs. Dorothy Smith Pillsbury, 95, of Walterboro, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Colleton Medical Center. She was first married to the late Youil H. Wooten, Sr. and was the widow of the late Phil Pillsbury.
Mrs. Pillsbury was born March 2, 1924 in Tennessee. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Walterboro. She owned ABC Appliances in North Charleston for many years and was in retail sales for many years. She was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables. She took great pride in her garden and sold the vegetables she grew to many local businesses. She dearly loved her family and will be missed by all.
Surviving are: her daughters-in-law, Sandra Wooten of Walterboro and Darlene Wooten Herring of Conway; grandchildren, John Wooten, Fred Wooten, Ginger Morrison, and April Adair; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Youil H. Wooten, Jr., Jerry D. Wooten, and Everett C. Wooten; daughter-in-law, Judy Wooten Williams; and a granddaughter, Angie Kylander.
Funeral services will be held at 6 pm, Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will be held at 11 am Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston.
