Mrs. Doris Jane Vandermark, age 88, formerly of Walterboro, SC passed away February 20, 2021 at Baylor Scott and White All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas from complications associated with pneumonia.
She was born to the late Harold Ocker Alleman and Helen Margaret Kling Alleman on June 20, 1932 in Shippensburg, PA. Jane graduated from Shippensburg High School on May 26, 1950 and was selected as "Ms. Shippensburg" in 1952. She was married to the late Harold Ralph Vandermark on July 14, 1955 and they lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey until they divorced in 1981.
Jane was the proud mother of the late LeAnn Jane Crosby of Walterboro, SC and is survived by her daughter, Tracey Vandermark Moore of Fort Worth, Texas as well as granddaughters, Sarah Moore Little and Caitlyn Crosby Brownlee; grandson Jacob David Moore and great grandson Luke Little.
Mrs. Vandermark lived a rich full life that included work as a real estate agent, a Peace Corps volunteer in South America and was employed for many years in retail management. She passed along a strong work ethic and deep core values to family and friends that she touched.
At her request, there will be no viewing or memorial service but a small family service at a future date. The family requests that instead of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.act.alz.org) in the name of Doris Jane Vandermark.
