Mrs. Doris Attaway Rowe, 86, entered into eternal rest Thursday evening, November 4, 2021, at her residence. She was the widow of the late H.M. “Mac” Rowe.
Born October 7, 1935, in Twin City, Georgia, she was a daughter of Willie Edward Attaway and Maude Sherrod Attaway. She retired from the Hampton County Health Department Vital Records Office, where she worked for twenty-five years. For five years, her and her husband operated Mac and Dick’s Restaurant. Mrs. Doris was a member of First Christian Church in Hampton and attended Spirit of Life Ministries. After retirement, she enjoyed line dancing with the Kountry Kickers and Dixie Dancers. She loved her family and loved visiting with her family and friends.
Surviving are: her daughters, Maxine Hackney and Marie Creech and her husband Bobby; grandchildren, Josh Crocker (Denise), Megan Anderson (Kevin), Shelli Beach (Scott), Jessica Myers, Miranda Creech, Marty Long (Patty), Ashley Kolalewski (Scott), Matthew Long (Christina), and Joey Crocker; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her step-son, Hubert Malcom Rowe, Jr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Rebecca Crocker; and a sister, Dora Roberson.
The family would like to express a great appreciation to Regional Southern Care Hospice team for their unsurpassed care provided to Mrs. Doris.
A memorial service will be held 1 o’clock, Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Spirit of Life Ministries, 235 Chanel Drive, Varnville, South Carolina 29944. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary after the service.
