Mr. Donald Roy Lyons, 80, of Islandton, entered into rest Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Medical University Medical Center in Charleston.
Born March 22, 1941 in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Arnett Lyons and Ella Linder Lyons. He was a retired iron worker for Thompson Industries in Sumter. He was a member of Berea Advent Christian Church. He was a member of the NRA, Polks Hunting Club, and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, and loved fixing things.
Surviving are: his children, Cathy Elaine Lyons of Islandton and Dale R. Lyons, Sr. and his wife Michelle of Islandton; stepsons, Ashley Bowman and Lloyd Hogan; his faithful companion of 22 years, Margaret Cassidy; brother, Parker Lyons of Walterboro; sisters, Joyce Brabham of Branchville and Lessie Mae Wooten of Hampton; grandchildren, Robbie Williams (Jami), Cody Williams, Dale Lyons, Jr. (Dea), and Avery Vargo (Josh); and great grandchildren, Hayden, Grady, Amelia, Wyatt, Weston, Sol, Dale III, Stacy, and Ellie. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Casey Lyons; and brothers, Chester Lyons and Daniel D. Lyons; and a sister, Bessie Myers.
Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Thursday morning, April 29, 2021 at Berea Advent Christian Church, 76 Christian Drive, Smoaks, South Carolina. Interment will follow in Hagan Cemetery.
