Mrs. Diane Clark Hardy, 71, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, August 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at Hospice of Charleston in Mount Pleasant.
Born June 13, 1947, in Charleston County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley Clark and the late Dorothy Mae Infinger Clark McDaniel. Diane was an incredibly strong individual who possessed an even stronger work ethic. For a number of years, she worked in the business offices of Carmichael Oil in Walterboro and also at Round O Milling. Her most notable work was with The University of South Carolina having served as a liaison in the computer lab at the Salkehatchie Campus in Walterboro. She was a member of North Walterboro Baptist Church in Walterboro. She served faithfully with Relay for Life and had served as Chairman for the annual Colleton County Walk and in her children’s school years, served with the Parent Teacher Organization at their respective schools. Diane knew love and always gave love; she centered her life around her family, adoring her children and grandchildren as well as her dog, “GiGi”.
Surviving are: her husband of thirty years, Mr. James Carroll “J.C.” Hardy; her children, Robert Boodle (Melissa) of Summerville, Glenda Kay (Robert Harmon) of Walterboro, Dustin Hardy (Hannah) of Walterboro, Medinna Crosby of Walterboro, and Carol Schultz (David) of Summerville; two sisters, Joyce M. Clark (Ralph) of Summerville and Linda Clark Stanfield Koehler (Dick) of Goose Creek; seven grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Clark.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Colleton County Relay for Life, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, August 25, 2018, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
