Dennis Soule

Mr. Dennis Edward Soule, 74, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Friday, April 22, 2022 at Roper Hospice Cottage in Mount Pleasant.  He was the husband of the late Nancy Pilialoha Soule.

Born April 27, 1947 in St. Albans, Vermont, he was the son of the late George Edward Soule and Bernadette Morrits Soule.  He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy for 20 years.  After his retirement from the Navy, he worked for many years for the Charleston Animal Society and was an Animal Control Officer for the Colleton County Animal Shelter.  His love for animals was boundless.  Mr. Dennis was a kind, gentle soul, who was always the first to lend a helping hand.  He also loved practical jokes. 

Surviving are: one that he loved as a daughter, Jami Williams of North Charleston; sister, Ann Marie Cottle and her husband Bruce of Chelmsford, Massachusetts; nieces and nephews, Julie Varin and her husband Brett of Charleston, Denise Wood and her husband Gary “Joe” of St. Albans, Vermont, Jordan Cottle and his fiancé, Madeleine Turner of Brookline, Massachusetts, and Jeremy Cottle of Birmingham, Alabama; and many grand nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Robert Grant.
