Curtis Priester Obituary

Mr. Curtis (Curt) Priester, age 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday afternoon, April 27, 2020.  He died at home after an extended illness while surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Amedisys Hospice.

Born September 2, 1938, in the Rum Gully Community of Islandton, he was a son of the late Harvey Priester and the late Minnie Ferrell Priester.    He was a longtime member of Welch Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro.  Mr. Curt dearly loved his pastor and the members of his church.   He was employed for many years with Warren Building Supply in Williams and retired from Sanders Supply in Bamberg.    He was the founding owner, along with his wife, of C and L Plumbing.   He loved gardening, fishing, and helping others.

He was the loving husband of fifty-nine years to Mrs. Laura Frederickson Priester; and is also survived by their two daughters, Terrie Stephenson and her husband Ricky of New Ellenton and Wanda Brickle and her husband Dew ayne of Branchville.   He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashlynn Stephenson, Cameron Stephenson, Aaron Brickle and Laura Lynn King and her husband Tyler.   He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy Priester of Smoaks, Robert Priester of Ruffin, and Angus Priester of Walterboro; and a special nephew, Allen Priester.

In consideration of the extraordinary circumstances associated with the Coronavirus, the family will hold a private graveside funeral service for Mr. Priester at the Williams Cemetery.
