Mrs. Cheryl Welles Wilson, age 72, entered into rest Tuesday morning, August 27, 2019, at her home in Walterboro. She was the wife of the late Mr. Robert Michael Wilson, Sr.
Born July 31, 1947, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was a daughter of the late George O. Welles and the late Marjorie Welles. Cheryl was a well known and beloved icon at the Waffle House on Bells Highway in Walterboro where she has worked for a number of years fulfilling numerous positions and having served lastly as a grill operator. She was known for her strong work ethic and also enjoyed vacationing with her family as well as camping.
Surviving are: two daughters, Terri Hiers (Earl Hiott) of Walterboro and Cindy Carpenter of Walterboro; a son, Mike Wilson, Jr. (Natalie) of Walterboro; a brother, Donald Welles of Florida; a son-in-law; Clifton Hiers; nine grandchildren, Kristina Breland, Michelle Alexander, Jessica Hiers, Ashley Schirmer, Richard Schirmer, Luke Driggers, Remme Driggers, Colyn Wilson, and Kaeleigh Wilson; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her step-mother, May Welles.
