Charles R. "Chuck" Boswell, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Charles Raye Boswell, Jr., known by all as “Chuck”, age 57, of Ram Horn Road in Cummings, South Carolina, entered into rest Tuesday morning, May 9, 2023, as a result of injuries sustained during an accident in Screven County, Georgia.

Born September 20, 1965, in Savannah, Georgia, he was son of Charles Raye Boswell, Sr. and Carolyn Stuart Boswell.  Chuck served as Vice President of Kicks Industries, Inc., a family-owned business and international manufacturer of choke tubes, where he put in countless effort to build the brand and give the company the well-known reputation that it has today. Chuck was a true businessman and was able to develop rapport with whomever he met, and in return, he was loved by many.

Chuck was a man of many great accomplishments, but most of all, he was a great husband and father. He adored his wife and children and put their interests above all else. He was involved with many of the activities that his children participated in, including going to horse shows and serving as a Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America for Troop 668.

Chuck centered his life around his family, his business, and his church. He was a member of Community Bible Church in Beaufort, South Carolina where he served as a Deacon and played in the Orchestra. He often ministered to future Marines at Parris Island as part of Cru Military Ministry. In addition, he was a member of the Evergreen Masonic Lodge, No. 153 in Hampton, The Jahab Shrine Club in Varnville and was also a member of The York Rite.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and passionate conservationist.  He enjoyed farm life, loved his High Brow Cat horse, “Cat Got A Jag”, and took pride in managing his property. He enjoyed being on his dirt bike as well as taking many trail rides on his horse.  One of his proudest moments was obtaining his private pilot’s license. Chuck was also a talented, self-taught musician who could play many instruments by ear.

Surviving family members, in addition to his parents, include: his wife of thirty-two years, Tara Ginn Boswell; two children, Jayne Boswell Vaughan and her husband Chase of Greenwood and Jake Ginn Boswell (Hannah) of Sylvania; two brothers, Lee Stuart Boswell and his wife Kelly of Sylvania and Larry Luke Boswell and his wife Beth of Sylvania; his mother-in-law, Janie Ginn of Varnville; and a sister-in-law, Raven Ginn Polk and her husband Gabriel of Varnville and their son, Whitney “Whit”.  He is also survived by a large host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Preceded by him in death include his father-in-law, Jamie Ginn.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to: Children’s Scottish Rite Hospital, 1001 Johnson Ferry Road Northeast, Atlanta, Georgia 30342.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Friday morning, May 12, 2023, at Community Bible Church, 638 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, South Carolina where Dr. Carl Broggi will be officiating.
