Mrs. Beverly Nelson Thomas, 91, of Ruffin, entered into rest Tuesday morning, December 31, 2019, at Pruitt Health Care in Walterboro. She was the wife of the late Mr. Riddick David Thomas, Sr.
Born August 11, 1928, in Mitchell, South Dakota, she was a daughter of the late Axel Nelson and the late Hattie Gherke Nelson. Beverly was a very skilled person with a great talent at sewing and seamstress work, having worked many years at Smoaks Dress Plant. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Ruffin. She will always be remembered for her love of animals.
Surviving are: six sons, David Thomas, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Walterboro, Wesley Thomas of Ruffin, Allen Thomas and his wife Jeanette of Islandton, Nelson Thomas of Walterboro, Ricky Thomas and his wife Donna of Navarre, Florida and Kenny Thomas and his wife Donna of Ruffin; two daughters, Gail Thomas of Wilmington, Delaware and Ann Thomas-Hauser of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a sister, Faye Gallagher of South Dakota; twenty grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, January 3, 2020, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Dr. Jack Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Churchyard, 19362 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin.
