Annette "Ruthie" Pulis

Mrs. Annette “Ruthie” Nugent Pulis, 72, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday evening, March 14, 2023, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. 

Born October 3, 1950, in New York City, New York, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Bertha Blanc Nugent.   Annette worked for the Colleton County School District as a paraprofessional, having worked throughout the district her primary focus was at Black Street Elementary School which is where her heart was.  She had also worked in the tax preparing industry alongside her sister at A and A Tax Service.   Raised in the Roman Catholic faith, she was a devoted Christian who read and trusted in her devotions each day.  Having been raised in a large family, she knew the value of family and centered her life around her family, especially her grandchildren who where her everything.    Annette was an excellent cook and excelled at baking.  She also enjoyed nature and being outdoors and tending to her garden.

Surviving are: a daughter, Lacy Pulis (Ryan Wolf) of Walterboro; two sisters, Christian N. Leary (Larry) and Louise Johnson (C.G.); three brothers, Joe Nugent, George Nugent, and Daniel Nugent; and two grandchildren, Tanner Wolf and Walker Wolf; as well as a large host of nieces and nephews and extended family members whom she dearly loved.  She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Pulis; a brother, Johnny Nugent; and a sister, Audrey Murray; and brother-in-law, Scooter Murray.      

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, March 18, 2023, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony.
