Allen Dean Coggins

Allen Dean Coggins, 51, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Allen was born July 27, 1972 in Rutherford, North Carolina. Best known as "Butterbean", he loved hunting and fishing. He could talk up a storm and never met a stranger. One of Allen's hobbies was to cut grass, even if it was not his. He was always the one to man the grill at cookouts; he loved spending time with his friends and family; and enjoyed helping out and taking care of the young ones.

Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Jean Carter Hiers; and his step-father, Clarence R. Hiers.

Surviving are his son, Dean Coggins of Round O; brothers, Billy Coggins (Heidi), Leith Willis; his sisters, Shelly (Anthony), Tina (John) and Terina (James); his aunt, Joyce Marie Myers; and his uncle, Alvin Carter. Allen leaves behind eight nephews and seven nieces.
