Mr. Woodford Grady Long, Jr., 82, of Savannah, formerly of Hampton, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Hospice House of Savannah.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Steep Bottom Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Long was born December 28, 1928 in Furman and was a son of Woodford Grady Long, Sr. and Hannah Rebecca Wooten Long. He was a retired Project Manager for Brunson Construction and Building Supply, where he worked for 53 years. He attended Open Arms Fellowship and was a past member of the Rotary and the Jaycees. Mr. Long was a true "sportsman", having been an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are: his wife, Betty Lightsey Long of Savannah; daughters, Libby L. Skinner and her husband George of Hampton and Pam L. Stafford and her husband Daniel of Bloomingdale, Georgia; sister, Addie Mae Tuten of Lena; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters.
