Mrs. Wilma Ulmer, 90, of Ruffin, entered into rest Sunday evening, June 7, 2026, at her daughter’s residence.
Born October 5, 1935, in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Jesse J. Ulmer and the late Leary Mae DeWitt Ulmer. Wilma retired from CCX, formerly J.P. Stevens, in Walterboro as a Date Entry employee following thirty-one years of faithful service. She was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Baptist Church No. 1 in Walterboro.
Surviving are: a son, Patrick Ulmer (Carole); two daughters, Janice Ulmer and Tawana Avant (Stevie Fox); a sister, Jennie Muchenfuss; three brothers, William “Bill” Ulmer, Jessie “Joe” Ulmer (Bunky), and Jerry Ulmer (Cindy); three grandchildren, Sherrie Ulmer, Melissa Evans (Gary), Dillon Avant; and three great grandchildren, Andrew Barnes, Hailey Grooms, and Abby Evans; and one great great granddaughter, Millie Gerrald. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William “Bill” Ulmer, Parker Ulmer, and Terry Ulmer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, June 11, 2026, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Churchyard, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro.
