Mr. Willis Dewey Holland, 65, of Estill, affectionately known as Poppa entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 30, 2009.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm, Sunday, August 2, 2009 in Nixville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Holland was born October 23, 1943 in Wrightsville, Georgia and was a son of Christine Smith Holland Bloodsworth and the late Merritt Wilson Holland. He was a employee of Collums Lumber Mill in Allendale and was a member of The Fairfax Lutheran Church. He served his country faithfully in the United State Army. A beloved husband and father, he was dedicated to his family and friends and was a hard working man. He also enjoyed working in his garden and fishing.
Surviving are: his wife: Vena Mae Turner Holland of Estill; mother, Christine Smith Holland Bloodsworth of Allendale; son, Wilson Holland and his fianc, Summer Rothwell of Estill; brothers, Bobby Holland and Charles Bloodsworth; sisters, Pat Bates, Willa Mae Stevens, Christine Williams, Janet Crosby and Elizabeth Bloodsworth; and his two faithful companions, Loopy and Hercules.
