Mr. Willie Ray Thomas, 89 years young, passed peacefully at Veterans Victory House on Tuesday evening, February 28, 2017.
Born in Valdosta, Georgia in 1928, where he spent his years until joining the United States Navy. Willie enjoyed fishing and gatherings with his family, along with being a leader in his church at Washington United Methodist Church. He loved watching old western movies along with cooking his favorite meal, collard greens and snapper fish.
Willie was a proud father of his daughter, Coretta D. Harley and his Daughter/Granddaughter, Kristen J. Thomas along with being a dedicated grandfather, always giving into what she wanted, Michelle Milligan, the best great grandfather to Deshon T. Thomas, whom he spoiled being the first born boy, Caimere T. Thomas whom he would have to say "come here" to remember how to say his name and watched his first steps in his home, a great grandson whom he did not get the pleasure of meeting Trayvon Milligan but would have had a ball with as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and so many loving family.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, March 12, 2017, from Centenary United Methodist Church, 1837 Old Highway 52, Moncks Corner. Elder Lynette Green, Speaker. The family will receive friends following the service.
